Miss Lisa Lorraine Hollis, 50

Miss Lisa Lorraine Hollis passed away at her home on March 1, 2015. The Lord is real, He gave Lisa 50 years. Fifty years of 'love and sunshine'. She was born to Coach Minnis(deceased) and Alice Smith Hollis on March 29, 1964. Lisa's life is not measured by degrees or awards. Her unconditional love for others allowed all who met her to feel God's love through her. She is a precious gift from Heaven that God loaned to us for 50 years. Our lives are better because she lived! She was given to Christ at Bethel A.M.E. Church at an early age. Christ never left her through all the ups and downs on this life's journey. She was always our 'Ray of Sunshine'!!! She was preceded in death by her father, Minnis, her 'Dotteeand Uncle Henry'; sweet special friends, Bernice Copeland, Mrs. Eddie Lee Chisholm, Mrs. Lillie Kate Williams, Mrs. Bertha Scott, Mrs. Rosa Malloy and her very special teacher, Mrs. Evelyn McGhee. Lisa is survived by loving and devoted family. An amazing mother, Alice; sisters, Jacquelyn, Greta and Majorie; brothers, Robert, Minnis and Terry(Deborah); nieces, Temecia , Areciaand Cassandra; nephews, Rodney, Ronald and Rodney Brooks;Special, Devoted Cousins and Family who walked this journey with us: Russell(Ruth) Scott and Marlyn and Bobby Harrison, Barbara Starr, Yvonne Mitchner, Maxine Manning, DianneGriffin, Sonya DuBose, Kim Smith, Mary Alice Adams, IdaMonroe, Beurena Wakefield, Jacqueline Harper, Edna Stephens, Mary(Ferris) Stevens, Raye Strickland, Connie Tolbert, Dorothy Boatman, Linda Davis, Nurses Brandy, Lisa, Valerie, Carla and Jim McGhee. Lisa and our family are strengthened and encouraged by the love and support of our loving Pastor Patrick Brinson and our Sister Angela Brinson.

Funeral services were held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 12:00 P.M. at Bethel A.M.E. Church in Quitman, Georgia with Pastor Patrick Brinson officiating. Burial followed in the North End Cemetery in Quitman. Honorary pallbearers were Russell Scott,Minnis Hollis, Clinton Gloster, Alvin Marlin, Kenneth Marlin and Reginald Johnson. Active pallbearers were Willie Charles Clemons, Reginald Jones, Jim McGhee, Jr., Javius Rashodd McGhee and the Stevens-McGhee Funeral Home Staff. Flower attendants were McKaler Larkin,Althoria Pickett, Sonya DuBose, Cheryl Collier-Brown, Myia Johnson and Larina Cornileus. The family received relatives and friends for dinner following the service at the church annex.
