Naomi was a lifelong member at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church for eighty-five years as a devoted Christian, warrior, and a dedicated servant. Naomi was married to the late Clarence Adams and reared six children, Donald, Vivian, Curtis, Clayton, Paul and Renee.
Naomi was affiliated with various organizations and received many awards; Choir #1 Mount Olive, Mount Olive Outreach Society, Special Helper Award – Mount Olive 2019, Award of Gratitude, Anna Brown Community Breakfast 2008, Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church Mother’s Day Award 2001 presented by Reverend Howard D. Coleman, L.P.A. Golden Alumni Award Class of 1947, COYP (Community Outreach Youth Program) presents our Shining Star Mother Award 2018 Honoree. American Legion Auxiliary, past Chaplin, Council on Aging, Golden Girls, Circle of Life Educational Center, Chaplin, Zenith Federated Women’s Club (disbanded) charted and life member of the Pride of Saint Lucie, Temple 853. As a Past Grand Daughter Ruler she received honors in Washington D.C. in 1982. Naomi was employed by the Saint Lucie County School Board for 25 years as a paraprofessional retiring in 1994. She was also a licensed barber of the State of Florida employed at Mobley’s Barber Shop, and Ellis Barber Shop. After two years of leisure living Naomi decided to return to the workplace sharing her expertise with the staff and attendees of Club Utilitas Teen Center as a cook. Later years Naomi opened Naomi’s Kitchen within her residence where she prepared numerous meals for her family and friends. Naomi was also a Master Gardener growing vegetables and she even tried a hand at growing fruit. Naomi donated her crops to many organizations for various functions. She also enjoyed fishing and eating fish one of her favorite dishes.
Naomi departed this old life to begin a new life of wonderous beauty and serene peace. She passed through this old life at her residence peacefully and quietly July 15, 2020. Naomi is now in the Garden of Eternal Life taking care of all of God’s magnificent creations. Within her new life she will “Walk Around Heaven All Day.” Preceding Naomi in death: her husband, Clarence Adams, Clayton Jordan, her son, Dravious Jordan her, grandson, Walter and Ruth Butler her parents and Eura Mae Butler and Barbara Cunningham, her sisters.
Those left to cherish her loving memories include her children, Donald Butler (Sharon) Augusta Georgia, Vivian Jordan Edwards, Fort Pierce, Curtis Jordan, Fort Pierce, Paul Jordan, Fort Pierce, Renee Jordan-Wyatt, Fort Pierce; brothers and sisters, Charles Butler(Mary) Fort Pierce, Gloria Dampier (David) Royal Palm Beach, Florida, Atty T.J. Cunningham (brother in law) West Palm Beach, Florida, grandchildren, Ciceley Jordan, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Di’edre Edwards, Jakeem Jordan a spirit filled grandson, Roderick Jordan, Fort Pierce, Florida, Kareem Butler, Donald Butler Jr. Augusta , Georgia, Yvonne Watkins Joseph, Port Saint Lucie, Florida, great grandson, Kareem Butler, Jr., nephew, Donald Adams, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, great nephew Sir Julian Adams, Fort Pierce, Florida,12 great grands, 14 great, great grands. A favorite and loving great granddaughter, Nyla Smith Fort Pierce, Florida. Left to also cherish her memories a host of nieces, nephews and cousins that she loved dearly. Iris Darling and Linda Norman wonderful friends to our mother and her organization buddies Fannie Henderson, Edmond Rogers and Drunell Richards.
Public visitation for Naomi Adams will take place on Sunday, July 19, 2020 by way of our drive-thru in the rear of Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL between the hours of 7:00pm and 9:00pm. A graveside service commemorating her life will commence on Monday, July 20, 2020 at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 10:00am.
