Reflections: When I was a little girl my grandmother babysat me while my parents were working. Almost everyday Uncle Ronald would come by and pick us up so my grandmother could run some errands. He would be driving that old Volkswagen bus full of stuff (which I used to call junk) in the back and even more junk on the front seat. He would pull up and blow the horn. We would quickly down the stairs to the passenger side door. He would shout, "get in". I would look at my grandmother and say "WHERE"? He would make room for us on the front bench seat. We would head from East Baltimore on our way back to West Baltimore. My grandmother (Arietta Giles) would always see someone she knew. She would say "Ronald pull over", he would say "why this time? She would say "there Ms.? On the bus stop and she needs a ride". Uncle Ronald would say his favorite line, "WELL CHEESES CRACKERS" . Well, he would pull over and I would look up to Uncle Ronald and say, "where she goin sit"? So, he would turn around and take his arm and wave it across the back seat and clear a portion and push what I called junk onto the bus floor. Then he would roll down his window and in a funny voice he say, "Ms. ? where are you going? " The lady would answer and then Uncle Ronald would say, " get in". We would drive all around the city dropping people off and taking people home. Those were the days. Rest In Peace Uncle Ronald and we will take good care of Aunt Gwennie and the girls. Lovingly, your niece and Godchild Rita

To Colles, my sincere sympathy to you, the family and friends of your brother, Ronald A. Rooks. Ronald will be missed, he touched many people through his antique and photography businesses. I utilized his photography services and learned from his talks about life and African Americans who empowered the well being of others. I pray you will cherish his love and your memories of Ronald, and in time, both will give you peace. Love, Henri Ann Daniels

Gwen and Heidi,I am sending my condolences to you and your family on the loss of your loved one. Ronald was a quiet giant whose smile lit up a room. His kind and gentle manner was always a welcome mat as I would visit as an unannounced neighbor. He would softly say, "Gwennie's not home but I'll let her know you came by Julia." I think of my good neighbors often as I recall the good old Ten Hills days of yesteryears. Julia Dozier Winder, Charleston, SC

"We cannot tell the precise moment when friendship is formed. As in filling of a vessel drop by drop, there is at last a drop which makes it run over; so in a series of kindnesses there is at last one which makes the heart run over." Ronald we hope you are enjoying endless conversations with friends and loved ones who enriched your life and with those whose lives you've impacted. - Carol Sydnor and family
