I met Rev. McDonald several years ago at a church conference where she "preached" to the congregation a moving message entitled "I don't look like where I come from!" I will never forget how deeply that touched me. She was truly a great speaker & I will miss her greatly!

I never met anyone on this Earth who had a closer walk with God. I just loved being around and in the spiritual sphere that Ella exuded. Her influence on me has been lasting and memorable. She brought me to a closer walk and started me on the road to becoming a much better, unconditional loving man. My heart is hurting but I know God is dancing and Ella is smiling and full of joy. Rest peacefully dear friend.

I'm going to miss Pastor McDonald she was a very magnificent woman of God. Proud to have had a chance to know her. She was an awesome writer and her book gave me encouraging words of being a woman in ministry. But I was very disturb to see that the church she Pastored was not invited to the service or at least her head Stewart was not even considered she had an awesome choir as well. Who ever made those arrangements you did her church she Pastored an injustice. God bless you family keep her in your heart. Bernice may God continue to bless you for the care and the love you have your sister.

I will miss my dear friend Ella Mae. We studied together at SMU-Perkins School of Theology, traveled to South Africa on a mission trip, went on the Hurricane Katrina sightseeing tour in New Orleans, and dined monthly at Salt Grass Restaurant. Rev. Dr. James Anthony Morris

Rev. Dr. Ella Mae McDonald was truly a beloved friend, sister, mentor and God Sent Prayer warrior for me. She was one the Greatest Preachers of the gospel in the Kingdom. Though she walked with kings and queens, and reached great heights in life and ministry, she remained humble and was mightily used by God! My heart is broken and I will greatly miss praying with and for her. I am grateful to call her my friend. Our loss is heavens gain.Rest well! You fought a good fight, you finished your course and kept the faith! I will See you in the Morning! Reverend Deborah Jackson

Such a breath of fresh air upon her arrival. Always a smile, encouraging Words, and often referred to me as her Musician. I LOVED Dr. McDonald dearly and will miss her! May God bless the family.
