Georgia Hall-Robinson was born the daughter of Rev. John Hall and Willie Esther Hall on March 31, 1947, in Marianna, Arkansas. She professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She was baptized at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Brickey, Arkansas. Georgia transitioned to be with the Lord on June 1, 2020.

Georgia graduated from Anna Strong High School in Marianna, Arkansas, in 1966. She moved to Memphis, Tennessee, to obtain employment and study Cosmetology. She graduated from Cosmetology School in 1970. Georgia also attended Creighton Christian College in Memphis, Tennessee.

Upon completion of beauty school, Georgia styled hair on weekends and worked full-time as a Quality Inspector at Hunter Fan in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1982, she decided to pursue cosmetology full-time. She was passionate about cosmetology and healthy hair. She completed Dudley University, in Greensboro, North Carolina, to become a Dudley instructor. She taught classes and participated in hair shows locally and nationally for the brand. In 1986, Georgia followed her dream of becoming an entrepreneur. She opened Georgia’s Designer Touch in the Whitehaven Community. In her 35 years as a salon owner, she mentored new cosmetologists who later became salon owners. Georgia loved people. She had many loyal customers who became dear friends and dear friends who became customers. Upon retirement, she had clients who were loyal to her since the very beginning of her career.

Georgia was a very dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Since childhood she possessed a spirit to care for other people. She was the eldest daughter of seven siblings and four half-siblings. She was preceded in death by both parents and siblings, Henry Hall, Gussie Hall, MacArthur Hall, Jacob Hall, Annie Mae Butler and Willie Albert Hall. She wedded James Robinson of Memphis, Tennessee, in 1971, who also preceded her in death.

Georgia leaves behind three children, Angela Richards (Willie), Tony Robinson and Yolanda Jackson (Samuel); four grandchildren, Cassie McGill, Jeremy Mitchell, Elijah Robinson and James Robinson; one great-grandchild, Michaela Mitchell; two sisters, Neva Hall and Sarah Williams; two brothers, Thomas Hall and Johnny Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will all cherish her memory.

Georgia was a faithful servant who loved the Lord. She served at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church for over twenty years. During her membership at MBCC, Georgia served as a Diaconate and Children’s Baptismal Class Teacher. She also served in the Wholistic Approach to Substance Abuse Group and Stephen’s Ministry at MBCC. She loved nothing more than studying the bible and served as a group leader in Women’s International Bible Fellowship for several years. She was also sought for many religious speaking engagements throughout the Mid-South. Georgia officially joined Brown Missionary Baptist Church after visiting for many years. She was a faithful member until illness prevented her from attending.

Family will receive friends on Friday, June 12, 2020 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at R. S. Lewis & Sons Funeral Home 2944 Walnut Grove Rd, Memphis, TN 38111. Due to the Covid-19 stipulations we can only allow fifteen people in the building at a time for viewing. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 13, 2020 at 11:00 am at Brown Baptist Church, 980 Stateline Rd. Southaven, MS 38637. Services will be livestream via www.rslewisandsonsfuneralhome.com Interment will be held in Elmwood Cemetery.
