Mrs. Cathy Clash Coleman was born on September 15, 1961 in Washington , DC, to the union of the late Mrs. Sara Jane Mundy Clash and Mr. Lemuel Clash. Mrs. Coleman entered into eternal rest on the evening of Friday, April 3, 2020 at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich Connecticut, following a year long brave battle with breast cancer. Mrs. Coleman graduated from the prestigious Saint Catherine’s High School in Richmond Virginia in 1979. Mrs. Coleman then enrolled into Howard University in 1979 where she met her college sweetheart, Mr. James R. Coleman. Mr. & Mrs. Coleman were married on June 2, 1984 at Rankin Chapel on the campus of Howard University and were married for 36 years until the time of Mrs. Coleman’s passing. During Mrs. Coleman’s attendance at Howard University, she pledged the Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. Mrs. Coleman graduated with honors from Howard University in 1984 with a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering. Following her graduation from Howard University, Mrs. Coleman worked for Dow Chemical Corporation and then she was enrolled into Brooklyn Polytechnic's School of Polymer Sciences as a Graduate Student. Mrs. Coleman received her Masters Degree with honors from Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute in 1985. Mrs. Coleman relocated to Maryland with her husband to build their first home in Laurel Maryland where she was later employed as a scientist at NASA’s Goddard Space Lab. Mrs. Coleman then attended the University of Michigan where she graduated with honors with a Masters Degree in Business in 1992. Upon earning her Masters Degree from the University of Michigan, Mrs. Coleman joined Oracle Corporation as a Sales Consultant where she enjoyed a career of over 28 years of service. Mrs. Coleman enjoyed her memberships in the Westchester Rockland County Alumni Club and the ZNO Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Mrs. Coleman enjoyed entertaining friends and family at her beautiful home in Scarsdale, NY and she will always be remembered as a classy, generous happy host. Along with her husband, James, Mrs. Coleman leaves to mourn her passing by her “Special Sister”, Ms. Diane Mundy Gilbert (Washington, DC), her aunt, Ms. Hattie Mundy (North Carolina) and a host of loving cousins and friends from North Carolina, Washington DC., Maryland, New York and across the Nation.
