I don't know if the family will read this or not, but I just heard about Val's passing a week ago. I was heartbroken...still am. Val and I were best friends all through jr. high (Sherwood) & high school(Walnut Ridge) in Columbus, Oh. After we got grown, we would write to each other...first letters, then as technology changed, FB, emails and texts. We'd both get busy, get out of touch, but never out of love for each other. I had recently been calling and trying to reach her thro FB messenger...no luck. Life got busy, I lost my own Dad, then I got the devastating news about Val. I just want you guys to know that not only was Val a special human being-- full of warmth, generosity, laughter, kindness, light and love-- but she was TRULY A CHILD OF GOD in EVERY sense of the word!! I held her in the utmost respect and admiration for over 45 years! She touched my life in SOOOO many wonderful ways!!! She is missed and will forever be missed by everyone who was blessed to know her during her TOO SHORT time on earth! I'm thankful God allowed our paths to intersect on that marble block outside the doors of Sherwood Junior High....i didn't know it at the time, but it was indeed a CHERISHED GIFT to MY life that He gave to me....and when the Lord calls me home, I look forward to seeing her again on the other side! RIH my beautiful friend. I love you dearly and always! Denise "Nesie" Chambers
