Graveside services for Mr. Bernard Keitt, Sr., 63, of 190 Doberman Court, Cameron, SC, will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Andrew Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery, 559 Big Buck Boulevard, Orangeburg, SC. Reverend Donald Greene is officiating.
Mr. Bernard Keitt, Sr., was born on November 30, 1956 in Bowman, South Carolina to the late William (Son) and Ruby Mae Houser Keitt. He departed this life on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at his residence.
Bernard attended Bowman High School in Bowman, South Carolina. At an early age he joined Andrew Chapel Baptist Church. He was employed as a truck driver for over twenty years. Bernard was a jack of all trades, but his passion was fishing. He took pride in teaching his grandchildren about fishing and the value of hard work.
Bernard was preceded in death by his father, William (Son) Keitt and his grandson, Anthony (JuJu) Keitt.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Bertha Stroman Keitt of the home; his mother, Ruby Houser Keitt of Bowman, SC; two children, Deidre (Isaac) Stewart of Cameron, SC and Bernard (Sheera) Keitt, Jr. of Bowman, SC; four brothers, Willie (Rosa Lee) Keitt, Booker T. Keitt, Jerry (Cecil) Keitt, and Anthony (Shirley) Keitt all of Bowman, SC; five sisters, Susan (Willie) Guilyard, Shirley (Melvin) Simmons, Janet (Willie) Aiken, Sandra Thompson and Emma (Henry) Miller all of Bowman, SC; seven grandchildren, Isasia, Carlos, Keiasia, Rihine, Malaysia, Jeremiah, and Bernard, III; four sisters-in-law, Margaret (Robert) Smalls, Diane (Richard) Ellison, Debra (Howard) Thompson and Delphine Thompson; and a host of nieces; nephews; other living relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Family and friends may call at the residence of his wife, Mrs. Bertha Keitt, 190 Doberman Lane, Cameron, SC or Simmons Funeral Home and Crematory of Orangeburg, SC.

I knew Bernard kiett for over 30 year's because, I was married to his baby sister. Even though, Our marriage ended in a divorce but, Mr. Keitt an I did remain friends. We did go fishing for many years together an, We hung out together when I was in the family. I'm deeply sadden at this moment and in tears I'm going to truly miss you Bernard.
