Funeral services for Reverend Horace Huggins, 67, of 2218 Binnicker Bridge Road, Cope, SC, will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Canaan United Methodist Church, 5659 Slab Landing Road, Cope, SC, with interment to follow in Belleville Memorial Gardens. Reverend Walter Harley and Reverend Leonard Huggins are officiating. Reverend Huggins will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Horace Edward Huggins was born in Cope, South Carolina, on September 13, 1952, to the late Leonard and Adelle Huggins. He was the fourth child of seven children born to this union. Horace was called home to eternal rest on January 26, 2020 at the University of South Carolina Medical Center.
He received his early education in the public schools of Orangeburg County and graduated from George Washington Carver High in 1970. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Claflin University and graduated from The Carolina Theological Seminary School and the Lutheran Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina. At an early age, Horace joined Canaan United Methodist Church where he faithfully joined the Ensemble Choir, United Methodist Men and Male Chorus. In 2003, he was ordained as a minister with the Mount Olive Association. From 2008-2014, he pastored at Galilee Baptist Church in Round-O, South Carolina, in the Lovely Hill Association. He also pastored at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Bolentown, South Carolina.
Horace loved cookouts, going to support his nieces and nephews extracurricular activities, and making long last memories with his family.

Reverend Huggins transitioned Sunday, January 26, 2020, at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston, South Carolina.
Visitation will be held 12:00 noon - 7:00 pm Friday, January 31, 2020.
Friends may call at the residence of his sister, Ms. Linda Huggins, 2218 Binnicker Bridge Road, Cope, SC.
